About the Event
In this training, find out what you can do to reduce a baby’s risk of SIDS and other sleep-related causes of infant death and discover what you as a caregiver can do to help raise awareness of this important issue.
Fast Facts (http://www.cdc.gov/sids/data.htm)
Each year in the United States, there are about 3,500 Sudden Unexpected Infant Deaths(http://www.cdc.gov/sids/aboutsuidandsids.htm) (SUID). These deaths occur among infants less than 1 year old and have no immediately obvious cause. The three commonly reported types of SUID are:
• SIDS. About 1,500 infants died of SIDS in 2013.
• Unknown cause.
• Accidental suffocation and strangulation in bed.
