Why Do Toddler's Do That?
Sometimes toddler behavior can seem destructive. Why are they dumping toys, knocking over blocks, collecting items from all areas of the classroom, and climbing on everything? These repetitive patterns of behavior are actually what is known as "Schema Play". Toddlers are learning about how the world works through exploring 9 types of schemas: Trajectory, Transporting, Connecting, Enveloping, Orientation, Positioning, Rotation, Enclosing, and Transforming.
