Welcome, Dennis Mathew! “Bello the Cello” children’s book author will visit Rainbow Fleet!

Author and speech language pathologist Dennis Mathew will read aloud his newest children’s book, “Bello the Cello,” for our youngest learners at 9 a.m. on Aug. 4 at Rainbow Fleet Early Education Center, 1105 NW 45th St. The community is invited to attend. We can’t wait to meet him!

The session will take place outdoors in our playground area. The event will take place rain or shine, with the option to move indoors in case of inclement weather. All guests are asked to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

“We are so pleased to welcome Mr. Mathew and share his message of friendship, inclusion and the power of music with not only our students but also children from our neighborhood,” said CEO Carri Hicks. “Reading to children is the single most important activity to prepare them for school readiness. Author visits help bring reading to life through interactive experiences.”

Copies of the book will be available for purchase, with the opportunity for autographs on a first-come, first-serve basis. Live cello music will also be featured.

“The book is a perfect way to prepare for the back-to-school season, as its main character finds the answer to key questions like ‘Will I fit in?’,” said Hicks. “Every child should start the school year knowing they are unique individuals with talents to share.” Mathew is an elementary school speech pathologist with more than 15 years of experience in public schools. He has published three children’s books and a music album since 2019. His work incorporates trauma-informed care, language enrichment, social and emotional learning (SEL) and social skills topics, with more than 15,000 copies sold of his creative works. Mathew has presented at more than 100 schools and reached more than 70,000 students through age-appropriate books and music. Find more about Mathews at https://booksbydennis.com/.

We hope to see you next Wednesday!
