This Giving Tuesday, help Oklahoma’s youngest learners flourish

Giving Tuesday is Nov. 30. This traditional day of giving is dedicated to the ways nonprofits serve our community for the collective good. In the spirit of the season, Giving Tuesday inspires people to donate, collaborate and celebrate generosity. Please consider Rainbow Fleet in your end-of-year giving plans with a gift large or small.

All contributions are tax deductible. Click here to make a donation through PayPal. As you reflect on this season of giving, we ask you to consider ways you can help us continue our mission to provide innovative child development programs and services that enhance the quality of life for residents in Oklahoma and Cleveland Counties.

With your support, Rainbow Fleet served more than 67,000 children in central Oklahoma in 2020. Since 1972, Rainbow Fleet Resource & Referral has provided resources for parents and child care providers with one goal: to improve the quality of child care available in central Oklahoma. We help child care providers give babies and toddlers a great start with age-appropriate enrichment activities, a safe space to play and learn, and a staff equipped to handle the challenges of early childhood. Your investment of any size directly serves our mission. While $40 covers the cost of an annual membership to our Resource Center with books, toys and games for check-out, $400 can ensure healthy snacks for a child in our after-school program for an entire year. Your gift may also ensure that child care providers are trained on safe sleep practices for infants, CPR and First Aid, disaster preparedness and other vital child development topics.

More than 1,100 parents, grandparents, foster parents and social workers turned to Rainbow Fleet last year for child care referrals. We believe every child deserves outstanding care, and this year, we had the opportunity to help bridge the access gap with our own child care center.

You may already be aware of our services but the connections created here are just as important. Local child care providers find a spirit of partnership — not only with our staff, but with each other. We learn from and lean on each other and change happens, with preschool children benefiting from shared knowledge and expertise. Those connections have not only kept us going on our most difficult days; they have also helped us grow. Better days are ahead with your support. Rainbows only happen when it rains, and when the skies clear, as they always do, we’ll still be here ready to serve Oklahoma’s flourishing community of children and the professionals who care for them.
